doug is an entertaining writer, but his humor is quite superficial, and has not developed at all over the last year or so that i’ve been reading his posts.

and then, the commenters start creaming their panties over how great the post is and great doug himself is. then these comments then get starred, which eliminates the opportunity for any interesting discussion.
